Tania Lam, PhD
Associate Professor, School of Kinesiology, University of British Columbia
ICORD & Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute
Dr. Lam’s research bridges basic neuroscience and clinical rehabilitation in order to understand the impact of neurological injuries on mobility and to develop effective interventions to stimulate and harness any preserved or recovered nervous system capabilities to improve walking and function. Her research interests include understanding the basic neural mechanisms underlying the control of human walking, developing novel rehabilitation strategies for improving gait and mobility following neurological injury, evaluating the efficacy of novel robotic-based rehabilitation therapy, and evaluating the impact of different rehabilitation strategies on functional outcomes in people with neurological injuries.
