Jessie comes to McMaster University from Illinois. She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and master’s degree in Kinesiology: Sport and Exercise Behavior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is currently in the second year of her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginis.
As a part of the CHOICES team, Jessie will evaluate the physical activity behaviors among persons with spinal cord injury (SCI) using Antigraph wrist accelerometers, questionnaires, and VO2 fitness tests. Specifically, she hopes to establish validity of a current leisure time physical activity questionnaire for individuals with SCI (LTPAQ) by demonstrating convergent validity with accelerometry data and fitness tests.
