Dr. David Ditor, PhD

Dr. Ditor’s research interests include the secondary health complications that accompany SCI and the use of exercise as a means of attenuating or reversing these health problems. His emphasis in these areas includes i) autonomic impairment and cardiovascular disease, ii) immune dysfunction and its potential link to peripheral neuropathy, and iii) sexual dysfunction. Dr. Ditor also has interests regarding the effects of cardiovascular dysfunction on secondary tissue damage after acute SCI, and neuroprotective strategies to prevent such tissue damage. He is also the director of a wheelchair accessible exercise facility that serves individuals with SCI in the Niagara region.
